Mr Sng Yih
President, China and member of the Autoliv Global Executive Management Team
Mr Sng Yih’s career is unique in that he does not possess any unique functional expertise, and has always been thrusted into jobs that he would hardly qualify for in normal circumstances.
He held functional leadership roles in Project Management, Marketing, Human Resources, Aftermarket B2B and B2C Management, Strategy and Business Development, Legal before entering general management ten years ago. The experience garnered in all these varied roles comminates in a very different approach to managing the Asia/China operations of Tenneco, Lear and currently, Autoliv. Each role offered different challenges, but Mr Sng Yih approached them in the same way – what can I change to make this better? The last thirty years of development in China were the best times to approach businesses with this attitude, as the market changes at break-neck speed, and MNCs required first adaptation, and in recent years, transformation, to survive and grow.
Thus, as a lecturer, Mr Sng Yih will bring his unique brand of problem solving, learning agility and leadership into whatever the subject matter.
