NCPA Welcomes Nagasaki University Delegation to Advance Collaboration in Global Risk and Public Administration
On 30 March 2026, the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore), hosted a senior delegation from Nagasaki University (NU), Japan, to strengthen academic ties and institutional collaboration. Professor Liu Hong, Associate Vice President (International) , NTU and Director (Research & Executive Education), NCPA, and Associate Professor Wang Jue, Director, NCPA, led discussions on collaborative initiatives through a proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Nagasaki University’s School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, its Graduate School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Research Centre for Global Risk, with a focus on expanding cooperation in student exchange, joint research, and academic initiatives.

The NU delegation was led by Professor Wang Wei, Dean of the Graduate School of Global Humanities and Social Sciences, and Professor Yuji Morikawa, Dean of the Graduate School of Global Risk. The NTU delegation included Associate Professor Zhan Shaohua, Head of Sociology at the School of Social Sciences, NTU, and Mr Jeff Lau, Assistant Director of International Engagement at NTU.
Both institutions identified pathways to expand faculty exchanges, co-develop research, and convene joint lectures and symposiums - reflecting a shared vision to strengthen interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural and global engagement. The discussion also included doctoral co-supervision and broader student mobility.
Following the meeting, the delegation toured the Chinese Heritage Centre (CHC) at NTU, a museum and educational repository of rich archival collections and exhibition on the Chinese diaspora.
Looking ahead, NCPA looks forward to deepening its partnership with Nagasaki University to co-create impactful programmes, expand collaborative research, and nurture globally attuned leaders equipped to address complex public sector and societal challenges.
