MAE Alumni Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony 2025

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering proudly hosted the MAE Alumni Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony 2025, an evening dedicated to celebrating outstanding members of our alumni community. The event honoured distinguished MAE graduates who have demonstrated exceptional professional achievements and made meaningful contributions to their industries, society, and the MAE family.

These awards underscore our commitment to recognizing alumni who continue to uplift the reputation of MAE and inspire future generations through their leadership, innovation, and service.

MAE Outstanding Alumni Award

This award honours alumni who have demonstrated exceptional professional excellence, leadership, and impact in their field, bringing pride and recognition to the MAE community.

Mr Lee Shiang Long

Dr Lee Shiang Long is the Group Chief Technology & Digital Officer of ST Engineering, a global technology, defence and engineering leader. He oversees the Group’s technology strategy, advanced R&D, and digital innovation across its diverse businesses in aerospace, smart city, defence and public security. Prior to this, he served as President of Land Systems at ST Engineering, Chief Information Officer of the SAF, and Executive Director at A*STAR’s Institute for Infocomm Research, where he played a key role in advancing Singapore’s Smart Nation initiatives.
Beyond industry leadership, Dr Lee serves on the NTU Board of Trustees, contributing his expertise to shape the university’s strategic direction. He has also been a valued member of various national committees, including the Public Sector Data Security Review Committee. His career exemplifies the integration of technological innovation with public service, and his commitment to education and governance continues to strengthen Singapore’s future-ready ecosystem.

Mr Liew Nam Soon

Mr Liew Nam Soon is the ASEAN Regional Managing Partner for EY, as well as the Managing Partner for EY Singapore and Brunei. With over three decades of consulting and industry experience at EY, Accenture, PwC, IBM and Prudential, Mr Liew has led transformative work in corporate finance, strategy, governance, digital transformation and sustainability across multiple industries.
He serves on the NTU Board of Trustees and the Nanyang Business School Advisory Board, and in 2025 launched the EY-NTU Double Degree Scholarship to nurture the next generation of leaders. A firm believer in giving back to society, he actively drives EY’s CSR programme EY Ripples across Singapore and ASEAN, is a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Directors, and serves on the boards of public and private organisations including GovTech and UOB. Mr Liew’s dedication to innovation, leadership and community impact has made him one of the most influential figures in the professional services landscape.

MAE Alumni Achievement Award

This award recognises alumni who have achieved significant career milestones, accomplishments, or contributions that showcase dedication, innovation, and excellence in their profession.

Mr Low Yi Ngo David

Mr David Low is the Vice-Chairperson of the Low Tuck Kwong Foundation and a seasoned leader in the energy and investment sectors. He has held leadership roles across PT Bayan Resources, Energy Resource Investment Pte Ltd, Kaiyi Investment, and Metis Energy, steering businesses in sustainable energy and resource development.
In 2024, under his leadership, the Low Tuck Kwong Foundation contributed S$8 million to NTU to support accessible education and talent development. This landmark gift is enabling scholarships, student internships and opportunities for young alumni. He has also served on the School Management Committee and Alumni Executive Committee of Maris Stella High School, reflecting his deep commitment to education and youth development. His philanthropic leadership and entrepreneurial success make him a shining example of responsible business and social contribution.

Mr Jeremy Loh Ming Hock

Mr Jeremy Loh is the Co-founder and Managing Partner of Genesis Alternative Ventures, Southeast Asia’s first licensed venture debt firm. With over 13 years of experience in venture debt and equity, he has led more than US$200 million in investments across the US, Europe and Asia. His career spans senior roles at DBS Bank, where he pioneered venture debt in the region, and at EDBI, where he oversaw a portfolio of medtech and digital technology startups in Silicon Valley.
Mr Loh is credited with helping to build Southeast Asia’s venture debt ecosystem and is regarded as a pioneer in the field. He has also filed six patents, reflecting his innovative mindset, and continues to mentor young entrepreneurs through SMU and Enterprise Singapore programmes. His ability to bridge finance, innovation and mentorship has cemented his reputation as a leader in venture capital and entrepreneurship.

MAE Young Alumni Excellence Award

This award celebrates young alumni below the age of 40 who have shown remarkable promise and excellence early in their careers, highlighting outstanding performance, leadership, or innovation.

Mr Rahul Nambiar

Mr Rahul Nambiar is the Co-founder and CEO of Botsync, a robotics company founded during his final year at NTU in 2017. Under his leadership, Botsync has grown into a leading regional automation player serving global clients including Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Ford Motors and Caterpillar. The company has raised over US$8 million in funding, including a significant Series A round, and was recognised among Forbes Asia’s Top 100 to Watch.

Rahul himself was named in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia for Industry, Manufacturing and Energy in 2023. His journey from student entrepreneur to global business leader reflects the spirit of NTU innovation. He remains actively engaged with the university, supporting hackathons, offering internships, and recruiting graduates into his fast-growing company.

Ms Jane Wang Lu

Ms Jane Wang is the Co-founder and CEO of Roceso Technologies, Singapore’s first soft robotics company, specialising in rehabilitation and assistive solutions. Her company’s flagship product, the EsoGlove, is a lightweight fabric-based robotic glove that aids patients recovering from stroke, neurological disorders and hand injuries. Under her leadership, Roceso has achieved global regulatory approvals and Series A funding, positioning it as a leading medtech innovator in Asia.

Jane has been recognised as one of Asia’s Top 50 Women Tech Leaders and as a Tatler Gen.T 300 Leader of Tomorrow. She is also a grassroots leader, mentor and advocate for women in STEM. Her work bridges entrepreneurship, healthcare, and social good, demonstrating how innovation can create meaningful impact on people’s lives.

Dr Pham Tien Hung

Dr Hung Pham is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Eureka Robotics, a deep-tech company specialising in robotics and AI solutions requiring high accuracy and agility. Since its founding in 2018, Eureka has expanded internationally, establishing strategic partnerships in Japan and the US, and raising more than US$15 million in funding.

Dr Hung’s work has been profiled by global media including TechCrunch, and he has been recognised among Vietnam’s Top 10 Young CTOs. He actively collaborates with NTU research labs, creating internship and employment pathways for students while translating research into industrial impact. His contributions highlight the power of academic-industry synergy in advancing frontier technologies.

Mr Prashant Trivedi

Mr Prashant Trivedi is the Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Botsync, a robotics startup born out of NTU. Alongside his co-founders, he has grown Botsync into a fast-expanding company serving Southeast Asia, India, Africa and Australia. The company has secured Series A funding and was recognised on Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia for Industry, Manufacturing & Energy in 2023.

Prashant has also given back through mentorship, including participating in Advisory Singapore’s youth mentorship programmes, and supporting NTU research collaborations in mobility and sustainability. His achievements as a young entrepreneur reflect both innovation and community-minded leadership.

Mr Jingxin Zheng

Mr Jingxin Zheng is Vice President for Mobility & Industrial Solutions at the Economic Development Board (EDB), where he drives Singapore’s aerospace and advanced air mobility strategies. He has previously represented Singapore’s geostrategic and economic interests abroad in New York and Amsterdam, overseeing key partnerships across the Americas and Europe.

In recognition of his contributions, Mr Zheng received the National Day Award – Commendation Medal in 2023. At NTU, he has helped link MAE expertise with EDB for collaborative opportunities in aerospace innovation. His career reflects a strong blend of technical expertise, public service, and international leadership.

MAE Alumni Service Award

This award acknowledges alumni who have made notable contributions through volunteerism, mentorship, or support to MAE, demonstrating strong commitment to giving back to the community.

Mr Bosco Lim Jiahe

Mr Bosco Lim has been the official photographer for MAE since 2009, capturing countless milestones for the school and alumni. Beyond his professional contributions, he has served in leadership roles in the NTU MAE Alumni Association for over a decade, including as Honorary Auditor and Committee Member.
In the community, Bosco has been deeply involved with Fo Guang Shan’s Young Adult Division since 2011, supporting social initiatives ranging from elderly care to blood donation drives. He has also volunteered in overseas service programmes, including projects in Vietnam. Certified as one of only two Professional Photographers of America in Singapore, Bosco brings the same passion for excellence and service to his profession, his alma mater, and his community.

Prof Lim Wei Seong Lance

Prof Lance Lim is Vice President and Head of Research Translation at ST Engineering, where he has pioneered multiple industry-academia collaborations including joint labs with NTU, NUS, and A*STAR. He has helped secure millions in research grants, supported innovation in advanced materials, maritime safety, and healthcare, and launched national research translation platforms.

At NTU, Prof Lim has contributed actively to the MAE Industry Advisory Panel and has supported events such as the MAE Engineering Innovation and Design competition. He is also a philanthropist, recognised by the Singapore Children’s Society as a “1000 Philanthropist” for his contributions and volunteerism. His lifelong commitment to advancing research, education, and social causes exemplifies the spirit of service.

Mr Benny Lee Chin Beng

Mr Benny Lee is the Managing Director of GET International and a longstanding supporter of education and community service. In 2011, he established the Benny Lee Bursary at NTU to support financially disadvantaged students in pursuing their education.Beyond NTU, he has served in numerous community leadership roles, including as Chairman of the Hua Yi Secondary School Alumni Society, Vice Chairman of Bukit Timah Community Club, and Patron of the Kidney Dialysis Fund. He has also contributed actively to the National Integration Council and local grassroots committees. His generosity and decades of service stand as an enduring legacy of giving back.

Mr Tan Choon Yi Roger

Mr Roger Tan has contributed to society through creative innovation and compassionate service. As a student, he was recognised internationally for his marketing and creative work, including presentations at Wired NextFest and the Global Economic Summit. Later, he was awarded the SUSS RAISE Award for his impactful work with prisoners at Changi Prison, supporting rehabilitation and wellness.

He has also volunteered in hospices and authored wellness articles for inmates, extending compassion and support to marginalised communities. His journey demonstrates how creativity and empathy can come together to uplift lives and inspire change.
