Humanity in Medicine
Date: 12 Aug - 22 Nov 2015
Venue: Experimental Medicine Building
This exhibition celebrates medical efforts in Singapore's past, present and future that have been motivated by empathy and compassion. Here, we highlight groups and individuals who have provided and continue to provide a range of medical services and aid to those in need, driven by their compassion for fellow human beings.
While not all of them are medical professionals, these individuals and groups have organised resources and time to bring healthcare, sometimes as rudimentary as basic check-ups, to those who need but cannot afford it.
Starting from Singapore's medical pioneers that provided basic medical services to the local populace, the exhibition also highlights medical humanitarian efforts in Singapore and abroad in recent years. We hope the work of these groups and individuals will inspire a new generation to follow in their footsteps to bring relief to those in need.
