Assistant Professor Liu Jingxiao

Jingxiao Liu is an incoming Nanyang Assistant Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
He is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research focuses on structural dynamics and structural health monitoring; applied geophysics for urban near-surface and enhanced geothermal systems; distributed fiber-optic sensing and mobile sensing; and physics-guided machine learning.
He received his PhD in Structural Engineering, with a minor in Electrical Engineering, from Stanford University in 2023, his M.S. in Civil Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2017, and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Central South University, China, in 2016. He has received multiple best paper and presentation awards from ASCE, ASME, SEM, and ACM.
