Asian Spectroscopy Conference 2020

The Asian Spectroscopy Conference (ASC) series has a relatively long history. It was initiated by Asian Raman Spectroscopists and was held in odd numbered years, while the International Conference on Raman spectroscopy was held in the even numbered years. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, ASC 2019, that was supposed to be held in person in Hong Kong, was postponed to 2023. To fill the gap between ASC 2019 and the planned ASC 2021 in Japan, the ASC 2020 online version was co-organised by IAS and the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC).

It was attended by about 120 attendees from China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. The scientific programme featured 15 plenary lectures, 30 invited and 5 contributed talks. The poster presentation prizes were sponsored by SNIC, EINST Technology Pte Ltd, Laser 21 Pte Ltd and Newport Opto-Electronics Technologies Pte Ltd.
