| Event write-up | The lecture focuses on the following points. Firstly, the initiation of "Dahuayu" concept. Secondly, the factual basis of "Dahuayu" concept. Thirdly, the bringing in of "Dahuayu" concept into Chinese teaching. Fourth, the need to develop "Dahuayu" concept to suit the world's need for Chinese. Fifth, The new research and thoughts "Dahuayu" brings about. Discussion will also goes to, how to have a proper understanding of the normalization of the Modern Chinese; how to have a better understanding of the "elasticity" and "tolerancy" as well as its working and implementation; and the need for a stronger research in all Chinese areas. |

| Speaker profile/s (if any) | Born in 1935 in Jiangsu. Studying in Peking University from 1955-1960, and ever since, he remained in Peking till he is the professor. His field of interest in in Modern Chinese, especially Sentence Structure of Modern Chinese and Function words of Modern Chinese, Chinese informative studies and Chinese as teaching language etc. Since 1981, he has been travelling to more than 50 different countries, including United States, Japan, France etc to teach and to conduct academic visits. |
