Wilmar PhD Scholarship

The scholarship is targeted to students who are interested in pursuing a full-time PhD at NTU. Preference will be given to applicants specialising in: 

  • Health and Nutrition 
  • Artificial Intelligence 
  • Agriculture Technology 
  • All nationalities are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Applicants must meet the general admission requirements for the PhD programme. Refer to the respective programme for any additional requirements.
Applicants can apply for the scholarship directly through the NTU application portal by indicating their interest in the “Scholarship” section of the application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview and be evaluated by the University as part of the selection process.
The details of the scholarship are as follows: 

(a) The scholarship is tenable for one year in the first instance and thereafter may, subject to the Scholar’s satisfactory progress, be renewed each semester at the University’s discretion. 
(b) The maximum period of the Scholarship is four years for PhD candidates.

(c) The scholar may not find any form of employment, or hold any other scholarship, award, fellowship or allowance during the period of the scholarship without the prior approval of the university.

Singapore Citizens 
S$ 3,800 / S$ 4,300 (before/after Qualifying Examination) 

Singapore Permanent Residents
S$ 3,400 / S$ 3,900 (before/after Qualifying Examination) 

 All International Students 
S$ 3,000 / S$ 3,500 (before/after Qualifying Examination) 

 

International students may consider taking up a 3-year service obligation. As part of the service obligation, the international student is required to work in Singapore-based companies upon graduation. Details of the service obligation can be found here
