Programme Curriculum
Blockchain Essentials and Principles Decentralised Technology
This pre-requisite course in the Graduate Certificate / FlexiMasters in Blockchain program provides a comprehensive platform for learning about Blockchain Technology and Cryptocurrencies. It covers key concepts in distributed systems, consensus protocols, incentive mechanisms and decentralised applications (dApps). Learners will also explore key anonymity, security, and privacy issues in modern blockchain networks and build confidence in blockchain technical concepts. This course provides a strong grounding for professionals looking to deepen their skills in blockchain engineering, distributed ledger technologies, and decentralised digital innovation.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Describe the various consensus protocols in distributed systems.
- Analyse the Bitcoin blockchain, including its technical mechanisms and protocols.
- Analyse the Ethereum blockchain, including its smart contracts, decentralised applications (dApps), and tokens ecosystems.
- Design dApps based on tokens and smart contracts.
- Evaluate anonymity, security, and privacy issues in modern blockchain systems.
Advanced Blockchain Applications with Web3.0, Cryptocurrencies, and Industry Impact
This course builds on the topics covered in Blockchain Essentials and Principles Decentralised Technology and moves learners into the frontier of blockchain applications (Web3.0), equipping learners with interdisciplinary and practical insights into how blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies are applied in real word scenarios, including technical, operational, business and legal perspectives. Through engaging lectures, case studies, and interactive discussions by blockchain investors and entrepreneurs, learners will explore the latest trends, opportunities, and challenges shaping the blockchain ecosystem and understand the core technologies of blockchain. This course equips professionals with essential knowledge to advance their skills in blockchain engineering, distributed ledger technologies, and decentralised digital innovation.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Explore the cutting-edge innovations of the blockchain applications development.
- Assess emerging opportunities and risks of blockchain applications including enterprise adoption.
- Analyse Web3.0 business models and principles based on blockchain technology.
Blockchain Dynamics with Game Theory and Incentive Design
This course covers the game theoretic principles that form the principles of blockchain technology, focusing on incentive structures, strategic decision making, and economic mechanisms behind secure decentralised networks like cryptocurrencies. Moving onto advanced topics including principal agent theory, social choice, and real world case studies. it equips learners to analyse and design resilient blockchain systems. Targeted at professionals and those looking to upskill in blockchain and fintech, it builds critical expertise in incentive design and system reliability, skills valued in cryptocurrency, decentralised finance (DeFi), and digital asset management careers, offering learners a competitive edge for employment and career advancement in roles related to blockchain development, strategy, and governance.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Apply core concepts and tools used in game theory and decision theory in blockchain systems.
- Analyse cooperative and non-cooperative game theory to predict outcomes and incentive alignment.
- Apply the game theory tools to solve blockchain related problems including oracles, consensus mechanisms, micro payments.
- Analyse how strategic behaviour and economic mechanisms impact decentralised networks.
- Assess and design incentive aligned mechanisms that strengthen blockchain resilience and reliability.
