At the Centre for Urban Solutions (CUS), research excellence lies at the heart of our mission. The Centre hosts globally competitive research programmes that drive innovation in sustainable and resilient urban systems, while actively engaging with industry partners and nurturing postgraduate talent to translate research into real-world impact.

Our research activities are anchored on two complementary pillars:

• Scientific Research: A coalition of research centres and groups focused on upstream studies in the built environment and integrated urban systems, advancing the scientific foundations for future urban development.
  
• Applied Research: Local and International Partners (LIPs) programmes that emphasise applied R&D, fostering collaborations to develop practical solutions that address current and emerging urban challenges.
