From Electrical Signals to Trustworthy Energy Intelligence
Abstract
Electrical measurements reveal more than energy consumption; they provide valuable insights into equipment operation, state transitions, and interactions among electrical loads. Transforming these measurements into reliable and actionable intelligence, however, requires more than high-performing machine learning models.
This seminar explores the evolution from electrical sensing to trustworthy, AI-driven energy intelligence, drawing on ongoing research and technological developments at Ecogentix. It examines how physics-informed approaches, adaptive machine learning, and continual learning can improve our understanding of complex electrical systems and enable intelligent responses to changing operating conditions.
A central focus is the relationship between model confidence, evidence reliability, and decision-making in real-world energy systems. The discussion addresses challenges in data acquisition, model generalization, uncertainty quantification, edge intelligence, and the integration of AI with physical infrastructure and operational control.
Drawing on experimental research and practical engineering experience, the seminar highlights emerging opportunities for intelligent energy management across residential, commercial, and industrial environments. It also explores future directions in distributed energy resources, microgrids, and collaborative intelligence, emphasizing the role of trustworthy AI in developing more efficient, adaptive, and resilient energy systems.
