Interns from the Maritime Studies with International Trading Specialisation Programme
In 2017, I managed to clinch an internship with South32 through CEIT. As NTU's International trading flagship, CEIT provides students with platforms necessary to succeed in the international trading value chain. One of which is by encouraging corporate partners like South32 to provide internships opportunities to ITP students.

South32 puts a lot of emphasis in getting the best out of their people. This strategy is embedded in every corner of the organisation including the well-structured internship program. During the internship, I was assigned to contracts management and freight operations team on the commercial side. Despite having no prior knowledge in mining operations and marketing, my friendly supervisors and colleagues were always ready to help.

They provided in-depth training that enables me to actively contribute as a member of the team. The internship was also filled with knowledge workshop that accelerated my knowledge and interest in metals and other commodities. As a member of such a great team, the workplace almost feels like home.

From this internship, I have met so many amazing people across different cultures and backgrounds.
