IGP-CCTF PhD Programme in Blockchain

Introduction
Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is pioneering a new direction in doctoral education, aiming to break down traditional disciplinary boundaries and foster research that requires a multi-disciplinary approach. NTU-CCTF is one of the participating centers offering NTU’s Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme (IGP). In line with global trends and demands, students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme will focus on two or more disciplines rather than a single field. The establishment of this programme marks an exciting development for both NTU and Singapore. Today, fresh and innovative thinking is urgently needed to tackle global challenges—particularly in areas such as environmental sustainability, viable alternative energy solutions, future healthcare, new media, and other complex, wide-ranging issues. The IGP-CCTF specialization leverages NTU’s world-class research centers, institutes, colleges, and schools to promote interdisciplinary innovation and thinking. It strengthens NTU’s role in transforming breakthrough ideas and technologies from the university into real-world impact, helping the university become a hub of innovation and knowledge. The programme admits two PhD students each year, providing them with the opportunity to address global challenges through cross-disciplinary research.
