ASE Asst Prof Janice Lee is provides insight on what a long-term solution to the haze problem would look like in the South China Morning Post (20 Sept 2019). In brief:

• Hold companies found to have used fire to clear land accountable.
• Identify the actors benefiting from clearing peatlands and dismantle the power structures that continue to let them get away with it.
• Create awareness and engagement for sustainable production on palm oil and pulpwood from consumers to financers.
