ARISE Health Coaching grew out of a research programme led by Professor Theng Yin Leng, funded by the Ministry of Health in 2016, which subsequently led to a strategic research initiative conducted between 2018 and 2020. The findings uncovered a critical gap in Singapore's healthcare landscape, a shortage of trained individuals equipped to provide health coaching for older adults and behaviour change support for those managing chronic conditions. With 1 in 4 Singaporeans projected to be aged 65 and above by 2030, and healthcare professionals stretched thin by the demands of acute care, there was a clear and urgent need for community-based support that could bridge the gap in continuity of care. Professional Certificate in Essential Health Coaching for Healthy Ageing

Building on 10 years of ageing research, ARISE has translated key evidence-based findings and outcomes into our health coaching training programmes. Our curriculum was thoughtfully developed to address these gaps, covering the full spectrum of healthy ageing, from gerontology and exercise as medicine, to nutrition, motivational interviewing, caregiving, mental well-being, and crisis support. Grounded in evidence and shaped by real-world feedback from past participants, the programme is mapped to the SkillsFuture Skills Framework and subsidised by SkillsFuture Singapore, making it both accessible and nationally recognised. It equips individuals with the knowledge and practical skills to make a meaningful difference. We would love to have you join us. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
