NTU and Saab jointly committed a total of S$13m for the R&D activities of Saab-NTU Joint Lab (SNJL).
 
Saab's research in Singapore focuses on the market needs of the Asian region. SNJL will contribute towards developing the next-generation products and services in the fields of air traffic management and underwater robotics with a focus on such areas as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, anomaly detection and robot perception (i.e. sensing, detection and navigation).
 
While NTU looks forward to realising the great potential of this research partnership via tapping on the talent & creativity of our faculty & students and from Saab's technical capabilities. The collaboration will also see Saab recruits top candidates to do their PhD at SNJL. The Saab-hired PhD students will have opportunities to be involved with Saab's various branches in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as its global headquarters in Sweden.
