MAE Speaker Series Seminar on Hydrogen and Defects: Challenges and Opportunities
Seminar Recording_Prof C.C. Tasan Professor C.C. Tasan Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States This seminar will be chaired by Prof Paulo Jorge Da Silva Bartolo.
| Seminar Abstract | ||
Hydrogen interactions with defects in metallic materials have been of engineering and scientific interest for more than 150 years. Here in this seminar, we will be discussing new in-situ methods to improve the understanding of these interactions. More specifically, we will discuss hydrogen - dislocation interactions in different steels, hydride formation mechanisms in different titanium alloys, and novel solutions for hydrogen embrittlement, including new coatings, surface treatments, and pumping technologies.
