Seminar Abstract

The Sustainable Manufacturing Group at the University of Birmingham focuses on the full lifecycle of products including resource flow, manufacturing, and end-of-life decisions. The group was established in partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre. In this talk, 3 members of the group; Professors David Butler, Natanael Bolson, and Andrew Garrick will introduce aspects of their research including energy and materials flow analysis, decommissioning of complex equipment and modelling of bottlenecks in renewable energy deployment.

Speakers

David Butler is the MTC Professor of Sustainable Manufacturing at the University of Birmingham-  a post he has held since 2023. Natanael Bolson and Andrew Garrick are Assistant Professors in the same group who both joined Birmingham from Cambridge University in 2024.
