​The 2017 Asia Pacific Insurance Conference, run by a not-for-profit organising body, was held in Singapore on 19-21 October 2017.

Caitríona Heinl, Research Fellow at the Nanyang Business School at NTU Singapore participated in a panel which explored exponential technologies and the role of insurance.

Drawing on the work of the NTU Cyber Risk Management project (CyRiM) and the observations of the project’s public policy working group, Caitríona discussed the need for both high levels of security and privacy by design as well as a culture of innovation; the importance of the supply chain; the role of government; and the impact of such technologies on the insurance industry.
