About the Seminar

Topic: Numerical Simulation Analysis of Progressive Collapse Response and Failure Mechanisms of Framework Structural Systems

This presentation presents numerical simulation studies on the progressive collapse response and failure mechanisms of framework structural systems subjected to column removal and blast loading. Steel frame composite slab structures and reinforced concrete frame structures are investigated through nonlinear dynamic analyses and macro simplified modelling approaches. The simulations elucidate collapse propagation, load transfer paths, structural robustness, and the contribution of slab membrane action to collapse resistance.

In addition, an ALE-ECL approach integrating ALE based fluid structure interaction with the CONWEP equivalent blast load method is proposed for efficient blast induced collapse analysis. The presentation provides a unified understanding of progressive collapse mechanisms and analytical methods for framework structural systems.
