Product/Proposal: Transaction system that can be authenticated via a digital token generated by our mobile application

Description: The challenge was to come up with a way of authenticating transactions through a digital token that would be generated by a user’s mobile phone. The mobile phone may be located in a remote area, thus there was the added challenge of authenticating even without internet access. The team achieved this by utilising time-based one time passwords (TOTP), a cryptographic method which generates an OTP based on a shared secret key and epoch time. We then built a full stack solution which consists of a web-app and a mobile-app to support and run our transaction system.
