SCSE student Dr Zhang Cen and faculty member Assistant Professor Li Yi have brought home a “Distinguished Paper Award” from the 38th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE). These were among the ten Distinguished Paper Awards selected from the 134 accepted papers (out of 629 submissions). This award recognises outstanding papers and serves as a testament to the significance and quality of the research.  

The ASE conference is the premier research forum for Automated Software Engineering. Each year, it brings together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss foundations, techniques, and tools for automating the analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of large software systems. This year, the conference was held in European Convention Centre, Luxembourg from 11 to 15 September, 2023.

Details about the award-winning paper are listed below.

Yao Zhang, Xiaofei Xie, Yi Li, Sen Chen, Cen Zhang, and Xiaohong Li. EndWatch: A Practical Method for Detecting Non-Termination in Real-World Software. In Proceedings of the 38th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE), 2023. 

Mr Zhang Yao is former visiting student at SCSE and a PhD student at Tianjin University, China. Dr Zhang Cen is a former PhD student at SCSE graduated recently. This is a joint work with Dr Xie Xiaofei from the Singapore Management University (SMU), Dr Chen Sen and Dr Li Xiaohong from Tianjin University, China.
