What We Do
SCRIPTS specialises in privacy-preserving technologies (PP-Tech) that are computing techniques used to preserve individual’s privacy while allowing maximum value and insight to be extracted from available data. These technologies enable organisations to carry out data mining, analysis and sharing in compliance with data protection regulation enacted in various jurisdictions. PP-Tech will provide solutions and knowledge on how to best utilise data collected to benefit Singapore’s advancement towards a Smart Nation without compromising privacy.
The Centre focuses on the research, development and application of customised privacy-preserving technologies aligned with the national priorities of Singapore in the Services and Digital Economy of the Research, Innovation, and Enterprise (RIE) 2020 plan. Our work is funded by a $15.3 million grant from the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and supported by the National Research Foundation, Singapore (NRF).

Title: Towards Risk-based Analysis of Digital Identities
Bio: Dr. Raphael (Rafi) Yahalom is an affiliated researcher at MIT Sloan School of Management and a senior advisor to leading organizations on emerging innovations in cybersecurity, cyber resiliency and risk management, and digital trust. Dr. Yahalom made various important foundational contributions to the field of information security and was the inventor of the influential “Yahalom Protocol” for authentication and key management, and the co-inventor of the “Gong-Needham-Yahalom Logic” for the analysis of security protocols. Dr. Yahalom was a cofounder and leader at Onaro, a successful infrastructure management software start-up that was acquired by Netapp and has been generating revenue of over $200 Million Dollars per year. Dr. Yahalom has obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge University. He served in the Israeli Air-Force and Israeli Navy, and was a semi-professional basketball player in the Israel premier league.
Abstract: The talk will focus on ongoing work on a new framework for analyzing digital identity life-cycle management schemes and deriving improved solutions. I will provide recent examples and incidents which demonstrate weaknesses in digital identity management and establish the need for better approaches and more effective analysis frameworks. I will present recent general results on cybersecurity analysis using data-driven cyber risk management methods. I will then outline the principles of a new a framework for systematic analysis of existing and emerging digital identity management solutions and the benefits of the new framework. I will conclude by outlining the relationship between the new framework and the future of digital identity, accountability, trust, and privacy.
