About the seminar: 

Our speaker will share his journey from a postgrad to becoming an innovator. This session will cover issues of how to evaluate start-up ideas, introduce the various start-up models as well as detail a data-driven approach to managing the product market fit. The seminar will end with a Q&A section for students to raise their queries.

About the speaker: 

Dr Eddy Lee is currently the Managing Partner of Coffee Ventures – has invested in over 50 startups predominantly in the US, Singapore and Indonesia. Interest areas include Fintech, Healthcare, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Marketplace technologies. has invested in over 50 startups predominantly in the US, Singapore and Indonesia. Interest areas include Fintech, Healthcare, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and Marketplace technologies.  

Eddy relocated from Silicon Valley and co-founded Coffee Ventures to tackle unmet needs in emerging markets. The early-stage fund focuses on people development, product-market iteration, and go-to-market strategy.

At Stanford University, he mentored at the StartX incubator and was formerly a consulting professor. He has also devised a medical imaging technology for visualizing stem cell migration and therapy. 

In his early career, Eddy was also a designer for semiconductor chips at Marvell, a NASDAQ-listed Southeast Asia success story which he hopes his portfolio startups could one day emulate.
