Proud to contribute as the Vice-President of Welfare and Outreach of student club Garage@EEE with NTU’s School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), undergraduate Thong Peiyu (first row, leftmost) is convinced that her active participation in student activities help add much colour to her school life.

“Garage@EEE has provided a platform for me to network with people working in industry and sharpen both my technical and soft skills.

On the technical side, I have learnt a lot in terms of application where I was exposed to operating a laser cut machine and a 3D printer. On the other hand, being in a leadership role gives me a greater confidence, strengthens my organisational skills, and improves my negotiation skills.”

As a foreign student, Peiyu appreciates the warmth she receives from the Malaysian Students Association (MSA).

“The first club I joined in NTU was MSA. The seniors took very good care of my well-being by freeing up time to give the foreign students a detailed campus tour and helped me to adapt to this new environment.

We hung out a lot and had bonding sessions over karaoke and playing Mahjong. They also brought me to explore different places in Singapore. I am grateful, and I would like to do the same for our freshies.”

Believing that the future path of an EEE undergraduate is unlimited, Peiyu encourages all to be actively involved in the various school clubs and activities to broaden your horizons.
