CI-NTU Immersion Programme to Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, California

 

A value- added learning trip specially for Diploma in Business Translation and Interpretation Skills (DBTS) graduates

Confucius Institute, NTU is organising an immersion study tour to Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, California in June 2023. This programme aims to offer participants an in-depth experience in how translation and interpretation, as a discipline and an industry, are being taught and conducted in the U.S. 

Middlebury Institute of International Studies is renowned for its translation and interpretation programmes. Prticipants of this programme will have the opportunity to join other translation talents from around the world in upgrading their translation and interpretation skills, which can help to prepare them for international careers in related fields.

Programme Structure Orientation / Roundtable Discussion / Graduation Lectures and Practical Activities Excursions / Visits to Historical Monterey and Aquarium Faculties Translation and Interpretation  Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages  Translation and Localization Management Training Hours 60 hours in total (9 full days)

Programme Cost 1. Tuition: US$3,800/person - Not inclusive of airfares, accommodation, living expenses, insurance, visa fees (where applicable), etc. 2. Accommodation Option A: Dormitory Estimate US$50/night for double occupancy Estimate US$150 one-time cleaning fee Option B: Home Stay Placement Fee: US$350 Deposit: Waived 12 days stay with meals (Breakfast/Dinner): Estimate US$1,000 3. All DBTS graduates (including current DBTS students graduating by June 2023) and interested practitioners of the industry.
