Sharing Session by NTC Advisor, Mr Pang Shengdong on his Entrepreneurship Journey and Experiences

An Information Technology Billionaire, Pang Shengdong is one of China’s most successful venture capitalists. Having achieved remarkable success in the startup scene in China, Pang is best known for founding the web directory www.2345.com, which was acquired by Shenzhen-listed 2345 Network Holding Group. He is also the founder of www.51.com, a popular site which supplies social network application services.

As an adviser of NTC, Mr Pang was in Nanyang Technopreneurship Center (NTC) for a sharing session on 4 January speaking about his entrepreneurship journey and experiences. The talk is open to students in our NTU community keen on pursuing an entrepreneurial career.

For Mr Pang, the path towards entrepreneurship was borne out of his passion and purpose to contribute and make a meaningful difference to society.

During the talk, he shared about growth and pivoting being crucial to the long-term survival of a business. He went on to highlight the importance of having a strategic plan on the exit strategy as early as possible.

Mr Pang also put a key emphasis that the success of a company is highly dependent on having the right people.

“You should act fast when it comes to business strategies, but you must always decide slowly when it comes to human resource planning.”

In closing, he stresses that Technopreneurship is a main driver for economic and social development. Hence, he encouraged the aspiring entrepreneurs at the talk to stay motivated and continue growing.
