The Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Health (CCEH) at Nanyang Technological University, in partnership with the World Health Organization Asia Pacific Centre for Environment and Health (WHO ACE), will host the Regional Action Forum on Health Impact Assessment and Synergistic Effects of Air Pollution and Heat from 15–17 June 2026 in Singapore.
This high-level regional forum will bring together leading international researchers, policymakers, and public health practitioners to advance scientific understanding and policy applications at the intersection of air pollution, climate change, and human health. The meeting will place particular emphasis on health impact assessment (HIA), synergistic environmental exposures, and emerging AI-enabled approaches for environmental health risk assessment.
The forum is expected to convene approximately 100 participants, including representatives from WHO, regional government agencies across Asia, academic institutions, and international organisations. Invited speakers will include global leaders in environmental health, contributors to major international initiatives such as the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) project and Lancet Commissions, as well as editors from leading scientific journals.
The three-day programme will feature a Global Science and Policy Symposium, technical sessions on AI-enabled data integration and environmental health analytics, and collaborative discussions aimed at strengthening regional capacity and advancing evidence-based policymaking. The forum will also support dialogue on translating scientific evidence into practical solutions for addressing the combined health impacts of air pollution and climate-related exposures.
Through this initiative, CCEH aims to strengthen regional collaboration, enhance technical capacity, and support the development of actionable strategies to reduce environmental health risks across Asia.
