Ms Tan Aik Na
Senior Vice President (Administration)
Ms Tan Aik Na is Senior Vice-President (Administration) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), one of the leading research universities in the world.
Ms Tan joined NTU in August 2016 as Chief Financial Officer. She was concurrently appointed Chief Administrative Officer in April 2017. In January 2018, as Vice-President (Administration), and then Senior Vice-President (Administration) in January 2020. Under her leadership, she initiated a comprehensive strategy to strengthen NTU’s administrative and organisational capabilities through the increased use of technological enablers, workforce development, and financial discipline. These have enabled NTU to sustain its growth and ambitions and were instrumental in NTU’s ability to navigate through the COVID19 crisis.
For her contributions, Ms Tan was recognised with the 2018 Nanyang Alumni Achievement Award. She was also one of 40 honourees of the inaugural Singapore: 40-over-40 Inspiring Women 2021 Award. The Award recognises women leaders in Singapore who demonstrated transformational vision and progressive contributions.
Prior to joining NTU Singapore, Ms Tan served as Finance Transformation Leader of The Chemours Company, a spin-off from DuPont. Ms Tan was formerly CFO for DuPont’s industry leading global Titanium Technologies business, the first Asian female to be appointed to the role in DuPont’s history. She was also the Managing Director of Chemours Singapore. During her tenure at DuPont, and later Chemours Titanium Technologies, she was a key member of the global leadership driving sustainable growth of the world’s largest TiO2 producer.
Ms Tan began her professional career at Price Waterhouse. She joined DuPont in 1994 and held numerous global and regional leadership roles in accounting, corporate treasury, six sigma, financial systems, supply chain, operations, financial and strategic planning until her departure to join Chemours in 2015.
Ms Tan holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
