Smart Nation 2.0: Professor Joseph Sung on artificial intelligence in science
Singapore's newly refreshed Smart Nation 2.0 will see an additional S$120 million for artificial intelligence (AI) in science that will go towards building a vibrant research ecosystem and a "bilingual' talent pool that is proficient in AI and at least one domain in science. CNA's Syahida Othman speaks to Professor Joseph Sung, Dean of the LKCMedicine and co-director of the Centre of AI in Medicine at NTU, in this 6mins live interview. AI penetrates every aspect of our lives, he explained. More importantly, in science, because advancements can go beyond knowledge that humans can cope with. In medicine, it can be used to help provide more accurate diagnoses and better treatments for patients.
