SCSE Dinner & Dance 2022

The School of Computer Science and Engineering (SCSE) had its annual Dinner & Dance (D & D) on 23 September 2022 at NoonTalk X Showco Studio with a total of 180 attendees after a 2-year hiatus. The event marks an important night to remember where students and faculty staff cement and strengthen their bonds with the student talent performances.

The D & D organising committee had tirelessly planned and executed the event while the talent contestants had put in tremendous efforts to rehearse while juggling their studies and busy schedule for the night performance.

The theme of this year’s was “The Royal Coronation”, symbolise the dignity and equality of every member, regardless of nationality, religion, ethnicity and gender. It aspires to bridge the gap between local and international students, allowing everyone to come together and unite through a common experience, to celebrate their passion.

SCSE Associate Chair (Academics), Associate Professor Vun Chan Hua Nicholas, Associate Chair (Research), Professor Lin Weisi and Assistant Chair (Student Care), Mr Oh Hong Lye graced the event.

The charming and elegant talent contestants vie for the coveted title SCSE King and Queen of Academic Year 2022/23 by competing in a series of segments and performances - stage walk, individual poses, couple poses and a light-hearted dance filled with cheers from their supportive friends.  

The winners of the pageant contest are as follow:

SCSE King Leonard Ong Kai Jun (CS, Year 1)
SCSE Queen Tessa Tan Jie Ru (CS, Year 1)

It was a memorable night where everyone enjoyed themselves with interactive games, delectable food and dazzling performances.
