Professor Lam Kwok Yan wins ‘Asia’s most influential scientist’ award at Fortune Times Awards

Professor Lam Kwok Yan, Associate Vice President (Strategy and Partnerships) and Professor of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, was named Asia’s most influential scientist at the 2022 Fortune Times Awards on 9 Dec. The award honours scientists with outstanding academic achievements, and who have made outstanding contributions to Asia’s development through science and tech. Prof Lam is the Executive Director of the National Centre for Research in Digital Trust, Director of NTU’s Strategic Centre for Research in Privacy-preserving Technologies and Systems and Director of NTU’s SPIRIT Smart Nation Research Centre. Since 2020, he has also been taken on a consulting role with Interpol. In 2018, Prof Lam founded an NTU spin-off Tau Express, which specialises in artificial intelligence and data analytics technologies for smart city applications.
