Congratulations to Professor Wen Yonggang on receiving The Digital Achiever Award at SCS Tech Leader Awards 2022

The Singapore Computer Society’s (SCS) Tech Leader Awards 2022 recognises individuals who are at the forefront of disruption and innovation, whose outstanding leadership has resulted in the implementation and led in the success of technology.

The Digital Achiever (Individual) Award

Going digital is at the heart of modern organisations today. This award recognises individuals who have

  • Implemented digital infrastructure, platforms and applications that benefited multiple companies or organisations by enabling a significant breakthrough in delivery of products and/or services to businesses and/or society.
  • Led in the innovative and inspiring digital transformation work that significantly benefits industry/society.
  • Demonstrated qualities such as integrity, exemplary leadership, entrepreneurship, perseverance, and skillful competence in the development/use of digital technology in their work.

Professor Wen Yonggang is an Alibaba-NTU President's Chair in Computer Science and Engineering at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore. He has been the Associate Dean for research at the NTU College of Engineering since 2018, where he spearheads major research initiatives.  

Prof Wen’s rich contributions have shaped national research that promotes digital transformation of infrastructures and operations. For example, the professor was a key contributor to a Green Data Centre Technology Primer and in 2021 was instrumental in setting up the S$23 million Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed. His outstanding wealth of work in green data centres and research has earned him several accolades, including nine innovation awards and seven service awards from IEEE and ACM.
