Biography

Preedipat Sattayasoonthorn received her Bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Assumption University, Thailand in 2009. She enrolled in the Master Program in Biomedical Engineering (International Program), Mahidol University, Thailand in 2010 and passed directly to the PhD Program in 2011. During her graduate studies, she developed a liquid crystal polymer MEMS implantable pressure sensor for intracranial pressure measurement in traumatic brain injury. During her PhD study, Preedipat was awarded a thesis grant for doctoral degree students from the National Research Council of Thailand and a full scholarship to conduct part of her research at Nanyang Technical University, Singapore. Whilst undertaking her graduate studies Preedipat also worked at the Center for Biomedical and Robotics Technology (www.BARTLABMU.org) where she secured research funding and organised international robotics events. In the past 5 years, she managed and delivered more than 10 research projects with an accumulated value of more than 4.5 Million USD from both government funding agencies and industrial partners. In this role Preedipat also led the organisation of several technical events both locally and internationally. She led the organisation of “RoboCup Asia-Pacific 2017” in Bangkok with more than a thousand participants and a hundred competing robots. Moreover, she managed the BART LAB Rescue Robot team at several international robot competition events: RoboCup Rescue Robot League in Japan (2017), Germany (2016), China (2015), Brazil (2014), Netherlands (2013), and more.
