Specialist and Graduate Certificates in Data Centre

PaCE@NTU and Facebook (now known as Meta) collaborated in August 2020 to launch a 9-month pilot programme to develop local talent in the data centre sector in Singapore. 

PaCE@NTU offers 4 Specialist Certificates and 1 Graduate Certificate in the pilot phase starting August 2020. The courses - developed in conjunction with NTU College of Engineering - are aimed at training and u​pskilling local engineering talent to fill the increasing demand ​for specialists in the data centre industry. They will run alongside NTU Undergraduate and Postgraduate curriculum, both on campus and online. The programme is open to the public and eligible for funding and mid-career enhanced subsidy provided by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)​. Courses are credit-bearing and stackable towards the relevant certificate(s). 

Learners may choose to read these courses (except for the semester long courses) as credit course or non-credit course. If Learners attend the course as non-credit, he/she is required to pass a basic assessment to demonstrate understanding of the content. Learners will still attend the course sessions and have access to course materials.

For Learners taking the course as credit course, there will be continuous assessments during course period and a final exam/quiz/assignment at the end of the course which contribute to a final grade.

Learners will indicate their choice at the point of application.

    These programmes target Engineers and Senior Engineers who are in the similar industry or looking for a career switch. Senior Engineers who are in sunset industry but possess relevant experience in managing mission critical infrastructures will be considered.

    NTU alumni with industry experience and are looking to pivot their career into a growing industry can use this programme and future iterations to upskill themselves.
    Each course is approximately 39hrs span over a 13-week semester period. They are equivalent to 3 Academic Units (AUs). To be awarded a Specialist or Graduate Certificate, learners must complete minimum 9 AUs worth of courses with minimum passing grade. A working professional may be able to handle 2 courses per semester or complete the Certificate program in 9 months.
