Facebook broke ground on their first Asia-based data centre in Singapore in 2018, which will be operational in a few years’ time. As a collaborator of Facebook, CBRE Data Centre Solutions (DCS) – one of Singapore’s leading data centre facilities management provider – will offer data centre specific training and career path advice for successful applicants of the pilot initiative. Graduates from this programme will be able to explore a career in the data centre sector or in other relevant engineering sectors.

These programmes target Engineers and Senior Engineers who are in the similar industry or looking for a career switch. Senior Engineers who are in sunset industry but possess relevant experience in managing mission critical infrastructures will be considered.

NTU alumni with industry experience and are looking to pivot their career into a growing industry can use this programme and future iterations to upskill themselves.
Each course is approximately 39hrs span over a 13-week semester period. They are equivalent to 3 Academic Units (AUs). To be awarded a Specialist or Graduate Certificate, learners must complete minimum 9 AUs worth of courses with minimum passing grade. A working professional may be able to handle 2 courses per semester or complete the Certificate program in 9 months.
"When we decided to build a data centre in Singapore, local talent was an important consideration for us. We are honoured to partner with NTU Singapore and CBRE to offer new certificate programmes to develop talent for the local data centre industry. We hope this programme will help students become immersed in learning how to build and operate efficient data centres.”

--- Gavin Chua, Head of Infrastructure Engagement in Asia for Facebook

“CBRE congratulates NTU Singapore on the launch of its new certificate programmes. Singapore is a global hub for data centres services, and we are pleased to help develop local talent in this increasingly critical industry. CBRE is proud to deliver mission-critical facilities services and technology solutions for data centre owners, occupiers, and investors in Singapore and around the world – and strong local talent is the foundation of these services.”
