Introduction
This course explores the famous question of the meaning of life through four key perspectives: Who am I? What does it mean to exist? What do I care about? What can I hope for?
For professionals in the healthcare, education, content creation, management, human resources, and finance fields, it is important to reflect on these fundamental questions as they enable one to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the people around them.
Thru a systematic reflection of life as well as the human condition in the contemporary world, learners can expect to upskills their creative thinking, resilience, and self-care thru philosophical approaches to the question of meaning of life and apply them in their career planning, self-help, leadership, entrepreneurship, and management.

Module 1: Introduction to the Meaning of Life

Healthcare professionals are generally very interested in a course on “Meaning of Life” that discussed what existence means and the meaning of life. A healthcare Director shared that young trainees have strong professional skills but when they encountered real-life scenarios that involve serious illness or terminal illness, they themselves found it stressful and difficult to process the emotions. They wanted to understand more what philosophers have said about existence and the meaning of life

Dr Kwok Sai Hang Leo
KWOK, Sai Hang (Leo) is Ph.D. in Philosophy. He has offered philosophy courses for undergraduate students and working professionals in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau in the past 5 years. He is also an active content creator for popular philosophy. He is currently running a personal philosophy channel “Philosophy Time” and a cross-disciplinary humanities community “Horos”. His specialization is in 20th century European philosophy (phenomenology, existentialism) and Asian philosophy.
