Introduction

This course provides an overview of ageing from multidisciplinary perspectives covering major theoretical and substantive areas in the fields of sociology, psychology, economics, communication, and health. Through the course, students will gain comprehensive understanding and knowledge of ageing issues across Asia and the world.

Assistant Professor Lee Hyo Jung

Assistant Professor
Department of Child and Family Studies, College of Human Ecology, Yonsei University

Hyo Jung Lee is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Child and Family Studies at College of Human Ecology at Yonsei University. She is a social gerontologist who has interdisciplinary academic backgrounds in gerontology, social work, and psychology with research experience in geriatric psychiatry and psychiatric epidemiology. She was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida. Her research agenda embraces the sociological aspect of aging and health, with a focus on late-life social relationships, health behaviors, and quality of life and death.
