Asher Ling - Managing Director (SG), Princeton Digital Group (PDG)
Asher is responsible for all of PDG’s investments, expansion, technical and business operations in Singapore. He founded Asia Digital Fort in 2017 which co-invests with Warburg Pincus and PDG in Singapore DC projects. In 2019, PDG fully acquired a Singapore data center business that used to be part of IO Data Centers. Asher has many years of experience in the Data Center industry and is a regular speaker at Data Center events like Data Center Dynamics, Data Cloud, Finance & Investment Forum.
Prior to his entrepreneurial stint, Asher was the Chief Operating Officer of Kingsland Development, a private-owned property development firm in Singapore and Malaysia. During his time in Kingsland, Asher founded the company’s data center subsidiary - Kingsland Data Center, and built the start-up into a successful data center business. The data center was a 5 storey purpose-built data center facility, over 200,000 sqft with 12MW of 2N critical IT load. Asher personally handled the sales for all global key accounts and still maintains a strong relationship with these large technology firms. In 2018, Kingsland Data Center was acquired by Keppel DC REIT for a consideration of $295.1m.
Before Kingsland, Asher led the Mergers & Acquisition team focusing on Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) deals in KPMG Corporate Finance (Singapore). He started his career with Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) where he received a full scholarship and also held various positions within IDA including the Special Assistant to the CEO, and also the IDA Board Secretary.
In 2017, Asher was awarded DataCloud Asia Awards - Data Center Asia Leadership Award by BroadGroup. Most recently, Asher and his team was recognized by Singapore Business Review and awarded the Management Excellence Award 2020.
Asher graduated from Stanford University with a Masters in Management Science & Engineering. He received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (summa cum laude) with a minor in Economics from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
