JTC Gold Medals

The NTU-JTC Industrial Infrastructure Innovation Centre is pleased to announce the JTC Gold Medals. Two JTC Gold Medals were established in 2014 and would be given to a final year Civil & Environmental Engineering undergraduate and a final year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate.

JTC Gold Medal for Final Year Civil & Environmental Engineering undergraduates

In 2012, the initial donation of $50,000 from JTC funded a Book Prize of $2,000 in cash annually for a final year graduating student in the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering. The Book Prize has been converted to a Gold Medal in Academic Year 2013/2014 with a top-up donation of $25,000.

The proceeds from the distributable income of the endowed gift of $75,000 would fund a Gold Medal and cash award of up to $3,000 annually to an outstanding final year student who has achieved the highest aggregate marks for the following courses in the Civil Engineering degree programme:

Courses
CV2302 – Geotechnical Engineering
CV2101 – Mechanics of Materials
CV3401 – Transportation Engineering
CV3501 – Environmental Engineering
CV4902 – Integrated Design
CV4201 – Civil Engineering Management

JTC Gold Medal for Final Year Mechanical Engineering undergraduates

JTC donated $75,000 in 2014 to establish the JTC Gold Medal for Mechanical Engineering undergraduates. The proceeds from the distributable income of the endowed gift of $75,000 would fund a Gold Medal and cash award of up to $3,000 annually to an outstanding final year student who has achieved the highest aggregate marks for the following courses in the Mechanical Engineering degree programme:

Courses - for AY 2014/2015 onwards
MA0100 Environmental Sustainability
MA1002 Fundamental Engineering Materials
MA2007 Thermodynamics
MA3003 Heat Transfer
MA4002 Fluid Dynamics

For the first award in Academic Year 2013/2014, selection will be done based on the following courses:

Courses - for AY 2013/2014
MP2001 Mechanics of Materials
MP2303 Thermodynamics
MP3003 Heat Transfer
MP4007 Engineers & Society
MP4005 Fluid Dynamics

There would be no award if the average of the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the selected courses is lower than 4.2.
