Wellbeing is not just about being happy. A positive sense of wellbeing is essential for flourishing and encompasses emotional resilience that enables us to enjoy life and to overcome challenges. In NTU, we endeavour to enhance and support the wellbeing of all our students enabling them to excel and thrive. We adopt a campus community approach to student support and care through which the various Departments,  Schools, and Halls work together to deliver an effective level of care for our students. Our focus areas are:

The University Counselling Centre (UCC), known as the University Wellbeing Centre prior to 1 April 2021, provides professional counselling and related psychological wellbeing services to our students and staff. ​​​​​​UCC supports and empowers students and employees to take positive action by developing their potentials and life skills.​

To ensure the wellbeing needs of our students are effectively met, an array of proactive and preventive programmes - talks, workshops, and activities - are run throughout the year. The purpose of these progammes is to raise awareness and enhance the NTU community's ability to manage mental health issues, care for oneself and to develop emotional resilience. 

Peer Helping Programme

Equipped with helping and outreach skills, Peer Helpers run outreach events at PHP Cozy Hub, a one-stop self-help resource hub, for students during the semester. Peer Helpers also provide support to students who are in psychological distress, including referring them for professional help at the University Counselling Centre, if need be.
