Renewables' Integration & Microgrids

Sustainable development priorities have hastened the adoption of renewable energies and technologies that promote decarbonisation. Advancement of microgrid systems and the deployment of energy efficient technologies are thus urgently needed to mitigate impacts of global climate change. Singapore has an ambitious plan for a sustainable future, leading to higher penetration of PV generations as well as grid-level energy storage for renewable intermittency management.

In this context, ERI@N’s Renewables’ Integration & Microgrids (RIM) programme aims to conduct research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) of power electronic interfaces including hardware, firmware, and software to achieve stable and reliable system integration of renewables.
