Prof Wang Peng is an associate professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and senior member of IEEE. He received his B.Sc. degree from Xian Jiaotong University, China, in 1978, and M. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, in 1995 and 1998 respectively.
He is PI and Co-PI of several industrial and government projects from different countries such as Singapore, China and USA with over us$10m. His research team first proposed Hybrid AC/DC microgrid in the world and the concept was published in IEEE Trans on Smart Grid in 2011 and has been well accepted as possible future microgrid architecture by industrials and researchers.
His research areas include power system planning, operation and reliability analysis; power market analysis; renewable sources integration; AC, DC and hybrid AC/DC microgrids; and smart grid operation and control.
