The Maritime Youth Forum 2026 was held recently, bringing together over 350 youths and industry professionals to network and engage in discussions on developments in the maritime industry.

Initiated by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) and organised by student leaders from maritime-related societies in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore University of Social Sciences and Singapore Polytechnic, the forum served as a platform for youths to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into the evolving maritime landscape.

The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Baey Yam Keng, Minister of State, Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.

Mr. Baey also joined the panel discussion themed, “The Future of Shipping for the Next Generation”, alongside Mr. Hor Weng Yew, Chairman, Singapore Maritime Foundation, Mr. Ang Wee Keong, Chief Executive, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, and Ms. Lim Ying Ying, Vice President – Ocean Transportation APAC, Cargill. The session was moderated by Eleos Tan (Maritime Studies, Year 3), who guided the discussion.

Representing the NTU Maritime Business Society, Public Relations Directors Low Jun Wei and Nicholas Teoh shared, “It has been a privilege to be part of the organising committee of the Maritime Youth Forum (MYF) 2026. We are grateful to the Singapore Maritime Foundation for the opportunity to work alongside student representatives from other schools. This year was the largest edition of MYF, being able to meet and collaborate with like-minded individuals through this event has been an incredibly enriching and valuable experience.”
