CEE Alumnus Von Lee Yong Miang: Paying It Forward

Mr Von Lee Yong Miang (Civil Engineering, Class of 1995) is the founder of Expand Construction, the company behind notable landmarks in Singapore such as the Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay. To date, the company has completed more than S$3 billion worth of projects in both the public and private sectors.

Mr Lee remains committed to paying it forward through his continued support of his alma mater. As part of the company’s 25^th anniversary, he pledged a gift of S$1.2 million to NTU to advance education, research, and student development. Over the years, he has also donated more than $1 million to support the Von Lee Yong Miang Bursary Fund and the Professor Chen Charng Ning Distinguished Lecture Series at NTU.

To recognise his generosity and support, a lecture theatre at NTU’s North Spine Academic Complex has been named “Von Lee Yong Miang Lecture Theatre”.
