The Sellappah Scholarship

This scholarship is sponsored by our very own Nanyang Business School MBA alumni Mr Pravin Raj in honour and memory of his late grandfather Mr K.N. Sellappah. Mr. Sellappah was born in Sri Lanka and worked as a school teacher, before migrating to Malaysia to fulfil his dreams. He survived the ordeals of being kidnapped and forced to work in the construction of the then infamous Thai-Burma Death Railway during World War II. His sheer perseverance was an inspiration, only matched by his ability to lead by example within his community.

Mr. Sellappah was a firm believer in the importance of education and the power it has to unlock opportunities and transform lives exponentially. This scholarship aims to provide financial aid to candidates from developing countries who demonstrate a commitment to making a positive contribution towards the development of their respective home countries and communities.
