Q: HOW DOES THE MSC ACCOUNTANCY PROGRAMME DISTINGUISH ITSELF FROM OTHER SIMILAR PROGRAMMES?

Q: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MSC ACCOUNTANCY AND THE BASIC ACCOUNTANCY DEGREE?
The MSc Accountancy will be pitched at a higher managerial level since it is a graduate programme.

 

Q: WILL I BECOME A CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT AFTER GRADUATING FROM THIS PROGRAMME?
In Singapore, you will get direct entry into the Singapore CA Professional Level exams. After you complete the professional exams under the Singapore CA Qualification and have been mentored in an accredited training organisation for at least 3 years, you will qualify to become a Chartered Accountant of Singapore.

 

Q: WHAT TYPE OF STUDENTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Applicants who are academically strong and have the determination and drive to become a successful professional in the accounting or finance related fields.

 

Q: I AM FROM A NON ACCOUNTING BACKGROUND. CAN I STILL APPLY?
The lack of an accounting background is not a drawback as long as you are open minded about learning a new discipline.

 

Q: WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF GETTING AN ACCOUNTING JOB IN SINGAPORE AFTER COMPLETION OF THIS PROGRAM CONSIDERING I DO NOT HAVE PREVIOUS ACCOUNTING BACKGROUND?
Chances of getting an accounting job in Singapore would depend very much on how well you perform in our MSc programme and how good you are when you interview, etc. The market for accounting graduates is good here but having said that, you also need to realize that employers in Singapore are expected to give priority to Singaporeans and permanent residents of Singapore if shortlisted candidates are of equal capability.
