Enhance your communication skills and overcome the fear of public speaking with the NTU Alumni Toastmasters Club. Whether you're aiming to deliver impactful speeches or improve how you convey your ideas in meetings, the Club will support your journey to becoming a confident and effective communicator.

Join the three half-day sessions of fun and experiential learning where you will gain skills to structure and deliver impactful speeches and enhance your delivery with vocal variety and body language. With the guidance of national-level speech contest champions, distinguished and seasoned Toastmasters, you will learn public speaking techniques, receive constructive feedback and answers to your speech-related questions.

Learn how to:

  • Structure, organise and prepare your speech
  • Incorporate vocal varieties and body language to enhance your speech
  • Think on your feet and speak off the cuff
  • Receive constructive feedback to improve your speech presentation

You will receive four months of NTU Alumni Toastmasters Club and Toastmasters International memberships to continue your quest to become a better communicator.

Date: Saturdays, 8, 15 and 29 November 2025, 9am to 12noon

Fee: S$190/pax (NTU alumni); S$220/pax (non-NTU alumni). Inclusive of refreshments, training materials and 4 months club membership

Trainers:

  • Johnny Teo (MAE/2003), Distinguished Toastmaster
    Johnny has been a member of NTU Alumni Toastmasters Club for 19 years. He graduated from the Club's first Speechcraft Workshop and is the Club's first Distinguished Toastmaster, which he achieved in just four years. He was the Division B Champion for International Speech in 2008 and Speech Evaluation in 2019.
  • Kelvin Leong (NIE/1994), Distinguished Toastmaster
    Kelvin is a multi-award-winning coach and speaker. He had coached numerous champions to success. He will share the same techniques that have made him a multi-category champion himself in the workshop. He was the Division B Champion for International Speech in 2019 and Speech Evaluation in 2023.
  • Swarna Kalyan, Distinguished Toastmaster
    Swarna Kalyan is a Toastmasters International Past District 80 (Singapore) Director. She is a dedicated career and life coach who delivers education, inspiration, and actionable insights to diverse audiences. As a speaker, she focuses on making each event memorable with a blend of inspiration and practical advice. She regularly speaks at organisations, inspiring individuals struggling with communication, networking, and leadership skills.
