​As a full-time matriculated undergraduate student of NTU, you can apply for the Undergraduate Concession Card. It gives you concessionary travel on SBS Transit / SMRT & Tower Transit bus services, (except Express, Jurong Island and Night services) and MRT & LRT train services.


Who can apply?
Only full-time matriculated undergraduates/diploma students from approved tertiary institutions are eligible for the Undergraduate Concession Card.

 

How to apply – for matriculated students

  • Go to any of these TransitLink Offices: Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Hougang Bus Inter​​change, Jurong East Bus Interchange, Tampines Bus Interchange, Ang Mo Kio Hub Bus Interchange, Buona Vista MRT Station, Admiralty MRT Station or Somerset MRT Station.
  • Bring along your NRIC for verification purposes. If you are not a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident, then bring along your passport and your Student’s Pass.
  • Pay the $18.10 fee. This includes $5 card cost (non-refundable), $3.10 personalisation fee (non-refundable) and $10 stored value.
  • Alternatively, you may apply via Transitlink's online portal here.

 

How to apply – for freshmen AY 2020/2021
 
  • From 2 July 2020 to 31 August 2020, freshmen can go to any TransitLink Ticket Office to apply for the concession card. 
  • Bring along your NRIC for verification purposes. If you are not a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident, then bring along your Student’s Pass.
  • Alternatively, you may apply via Transitlink's online portal here.
  • Pay the $8.10 application fee.
  • Collect the card from the One Stop @ SAC (you will be notified through your NTU email account).
  • Pay the remaining $10 to activate the card at any Transitlink Ticket Office / Ticket Machine.

 

The above application procedure is applicable during the bulk application exercise from 4 Aug 2020 to 4 Sep 2020.

  

Important note:

  • Freshmen who wish to apply for the concession card after the deadline can only do so after 6 September 2020 at any TransitLink Card Replacement Office. Card can be collected on the spot upon payment of $18.10. Alternatively, you may apply via Transitlink's online portal here.
  • All freshmen can check on their eligibility status on TransitLink's website, www.transitlink.com.sg, before going to any TransitLink Ticket Office for card application. Only students with eligibility status reflected as 'eligible' can start applying for their concession card.
  • Freshmen who had applied for more than one tertiary institutions are advised to apply for their concession card AFTER they have matriculated at their confirmed choice of tertiary institution.
  • The location and operating hours of TransitLink Ticket Office and Card Replacement Office can be found at www.transitlink.com.sg

 

If you have lost your card

  • You can contact Transitlink hotline at 1800-2255663 and provide your personal ID number to report loss of card. The lost card will be invalidated within 48 hours from the time of report.
  • You can enquire if your lost card is found via Transitlink website:
    www.transitlink.com.sg > e-Services>Lost Concession Card Enquiry before proceeding to apply for the replacement.
  • There are 2 ways to apply for the replacement.
    • Via TransitLink Card Replacement Offices - Go to any of these offices to apply for your replacement: Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Hougang Bus Interchange, Jurong East Bus Interchange, Tampines Bus Interchange, Ang Mo Kio Hub Bus Interchange, Buona Vista MRT Station, Admiralty MRT Station or Somerset MRT Station. These offices are open Monday-Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. (Closed on Public Holidays).
    • Via Self-Service Channels at Transitlink's online portal / Transitlink Kiosk / personal mobile.

 

Replacement fee for lost card

  • Via Transitlink Card Replacement Offices - Administrative fee $13, Personalisation fee $3.10, Card cost $5
  • Via Transitlink Self-Service Channels - Administrative fee $11, Personalisation fee $3.10, Card cost $5


If you are extending your study and need to extend the concessionary eligibility

You are required to send the request via  Ask One Stop if you are an NTU student or email to samerah.tunot@nie.edu.sg if you are an NIE student,  at least 10 working days before the expiry date of your existing concessionary eligibility period* with the following details in order for us to submit your extension request to Transitlink for processing:

  • Name as stated on your Undergraduate Concession Card
  • Matric Number
  • Expected date (DD/MM/YY) of your study completion

Transitlink will take about 10 working days to process your application for extension. You will be notified via email on your application status and the date to activate the extension of your concessionary eligibility period.

*Please check your current concessionary eligibility period at any General Ticketing Machine in MRT Stations/ Add Value Machine /Ticket Offices/Concession Card Replacement Office/Passenger Service Centre. Upon the expiry of the concessionary eligibility period, the undergraduate concession card can be used for a further 4 months but will not be able to purchase any concession pass.  It can only be used to purchase Adult Monthly Travel Pass only
