Our Counselling Team 

Ms Mariam Hamid heads the NTU Student Counselling Centre (SCC).  She is a registered psychologist with the Singapore Registry of Psychologists, the Psychology Board of Australia, and a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling.  She has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Western Australia, and a Master of Psychology (Counselling) from Monash University. Mariam possesses a wealth of experience in student counselling, working with couples and families, and employee-counselling.    
Ms Yap Lee Jong is a Student Counsellor with SCC.  She is a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling, and a registered social worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, a Graduate Diploma in Social Work and Graduate Diploma in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Lee Jong has several years of work experience in the social service industry, dealing with clients with disabilities and drug use related issues.  
Ms Majorie Koh Bee Ling is a Student Counsellor with SCC.  She is a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling.  She has a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education, and a Master of Social Science (Counseling) from Edith Cowen University.  Before becoming a counsellor, Majorie has worked as a teacher and social worker.    

Ms Tan Lih Chin is a Student Counsellor with SCC.  She has a Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore, a Diploma in School Counselling from the National Institute of Education and a Master of Social Science (Counselling and Psychotherapy) from Edith Cowan University.  She is a member of the Singapore Association for Counselling.  Lih Chin has experiences working with adolescents and their families in a school-based setting.

   

Mr Frank Chan Boon Pin is a Student Counsellor with SCC.  He has a bachelor degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology.  He also holds the Specialist Diploma in Counselling, and is a member of the Singapore Psychological Society, and the Singapore Association for Counselling.  Prior to joining NTU, Frank has several years of work experiences in the corporate and social service sectors.

Ms Tan Wan Wen Merrilyn is a Case Coordinator with SCC.  She has a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Psychology from Nanyang Technological University. Merrilyn has experiences working with clients and families from public and private settings.
