Entre For Good — Paint Banner 800x200 low res.jpg

Entrepreneurship is a hip word these days, with more young people even taking the plunge to start their own business as soon as they leave school. As a result, more universities in Singapore are introducing modules to help aspiring student entrepreneurs build up their expertise.

In the same wave, social enterprises are sprouting in the entrepreneurship space. Just like traditional for-profit companies, social enterprises aim to be financially profitable too. However, what sets social enterprises apart is that their business and business models are designed to achieve a social mission. These missions could range from a myraid of issues such as the rapidly ageing population, food wastage and climate change, just to name a few.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR GOOD aims to explore some of these social enterprises and how they benefit the society, in addition to be financially sustainable.

"From my very first day as an entrepreneur, I've felt the only mission worth pursing in business is to make people's lives better." - Richard Branson, founder of The Virgin Group

Fitness is all in the rage these days - from exercises such as Yoga, Barre and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) to popping up of boutique gyms across the island.

What if you could exercise and do good at the same time?

Meet the founders of a fitness social enterprise, Push Pull Give. Established since February 2017, Push Pull Give conducts paid fitness sessions for the public and pumps the proceeds into free sessoins for marginalised young people, such as at-risk youth and teenage mothers. It also manages a fund that pays scholarships for marginalised young adults, enabling them to start a career in fitness in Singapore.

In 2016, Push Pull Give embarked on a fundraising project for Tiny Toones, a non-profit organisation that uses hip hop and dance to encourage at-risk Cambodian children to pursue an education in school.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Date/Time: 16 October 2019, 12.00 pm - 1.30 pm
